Greetings
The Smyrna Tree
Dear Smyrna tree,
We sit down where you used to be.
Your memory lingering over our lives.
Looking up where you were called to reach the sky,
We wonder with burden hearts, what happened and why?
For your tree no longer flourishes and your leaves left long ago.
Oh! Smyrna Tree,
How can I bring to life the legacy
that has left great trace behind?
I pledge to thee, oh sweet stump and land,
to bring to life at least a sprout
and at most a lovely bride,
for your roots run deep and wide.
